What is this?
MyBandSite is a hosted software solution for making feature-rich websites for music groups such as wind bands, brass bands and orchestras.
How much does it cost?
The standard price is £10 a month, or £99 for a year, paid for using paypal subscriptions.
What do I get for my money?
You get access to all the functionality in MyBandSite, and you can turn off modules that you don't need. The website is hosted on our servers, there is no additional hosting cost. You can use your own domain name if you like, though this must be purchased separately.
Why is this better than writing my own site?
There are many advantages. Rather than being hosted on a band member's own private webspace, the software and data is held securely on our servers. Backups happen daily. There are many band websites out there that have had to be recreated when the original author moves on; this solution protects you from that. All data is held centrally, and so if the person doing the website leaves, then a new maintainer can build on the work already done. The other advantage is that much of the functionality is pre-built. You don't have to write your own private area security, or your own events database, everything is handled for you automatically.
What happens if I want pages that you don't provide?
You can create new themed static HTML pages at any time, by using Flatpages. These are simply HTML content attached to a given URL, so if you want a page at /CurryClub/ you can have one! Simply create a new flatpage in the admin site, and type in the HTML you want to include. The page will be styled as your current site design.
What happens if I want functionality you don't provide?
Ask. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive solution for band websites. Where appropriate, any functionality added will be made available to the other sites to use too.
